Anode Control
In the electrowinning of Nickel, it is important that the anolyte be maintained separate from the catholyte to prevent the formation of hydrogen gas in the Nickel EW Process. Several options exist to achieve this process requirement; however, the most efficient form of control has proven to be the Desom AnodeControl System which utilizes a porous membrane to isolate the anode electrolyte from the cell electrolyte. With a single liquid/gas handling system, Desom is able to maintain a constant inward flow of electrolyte into the AnodeControl System while at the same time preventing the escape of oxygen to the working environment.
